Man allegedly threatened pupil with kitchen knife in Berlin

Police are investigating four cases involving a 70-year-old man who allegedly attacked teenagers in Berlin-Kreuzberg on 25 September. Two teenagers were reportedly affected on their way to school; later, the man allegedly followed other teenagers and held a kitchen knife near a boy’s neck on school grounds. The report gives an approximate time of 9:45 a.m. for the later encounter. Parents described a possible provocation after an initial dispute, but police said the teenagers did not mention it when questioned. Officers established the man’s identity that day but did not detain him; he is reportedly still near the school. Police and district authorities are planning prevention courses there, while parents are calling for safer routes to school.
