Man allegedly injured traveller with utility knife at Nordbahnhof station

On the evening of 30 August, a man allegedly verbally harassed a woman at Nordbahnhof S-Bahn station in Berlin. According to the Federal Police, a 37-year-old man intervened to help her. The alleged attacker then punched the bystander in the face and allegedly caused a cut injury with a utility knife.

Emergency personnel treated the injured man and took him to hospital. A Federal Police officer recognised the alleged attacker at Berlin Central Station the following morning. Federal Police provisionally detained the 39-year-old man and are investigating on suspicion of dangerous bodily harm.
