61-year-old undergoes emergency surgery after knife injury at Berlin accommodation

A 61-year-old man was injured in the torso with a knife at shared accommodation on Goerzallee in Berlin-Lichterfelde on Saturday afternoon. Witnesses called police and emergency services at about 4:15 p.m. The injured man was taken to hospital for inpatient treatment and underwent emergency surgery immediately. Officers arrested a 69-year-old suspect. The homicide unit and public prosecutor's office are investigating suspected attempted homicide, and the arrested man was due to appear before an investigating judge.
