Employees injured in robbery at Schöneberg snack bar

A robbery allegedly took place at a kebab shop on Fritz-Reuter-Straße in Berlin-Schöneberg during the night of 28 March. According to police, a man had previously lost money on a gaming machine and demanded reimbursement from two employees, aged 21 and 23, when the shop was closing. After they refused, he allegedly picked up a fork and threatened the employees.

The man then allegedly went behind the counter and took cash from the register. During a struggle in the kitchen, police said he threw two beer bottles but did not hit anyone, then took hold of several kebab knives. He injured the 23-year-old employee on the hand and upper arm with one knife; the employee was later treated in hospital. The other employee suffered minor injuries to a leg and an arm after falling. The suspect fled towards Schöneberg S-Bahn station with the cash and two knives. The investigation is ongoing.
