Berlin: Two people injured in suspected knife attack

During the night, a 24-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man were treated for stab wounds in the emergency department of a hospital in Berlin-Mitte. The woman had multiple injuries to her upper and lower body and underwent emergency surgery. The man sustained a stab wound to his leg and received outpatient treatment.

The woman stated that her 24-year-old former partner had caused her injuries in Neukölln. Officers found and seized a knife with blood traces during a search of the man. The suspect was taken into custody for identification procedures and a blood sample, but was later released. Investigations into dangerous bodily harm in the context of domestic violence are ongoing.
