Two men injured in confrontation in Berlin-Gesundbrunnen

Two men were injured during a confrontation in Berlin-Gesundbrunnen. According to witnesses, three men ran out of a residential building on Freienwalder Straße while being pursued by a man allegedly armed with a firearm and a baton. After the pursuer caught up with the group, a struggle ensued. He allegedly stabbed a 29-year-old man in the abdomen with a knife and caused a head injury to the man's 26-year-old companion with a glass bottle. The third man, aged 23, was not injured. The injured men were taken to hospital; the younger man received outpatient treatment, while the older man underwent surgery and remained in hospital. Doctors said neither man was in life-threatening condition. The unidentified suspect fled. Police are investigating on suspicion of dangerous bodily harm.
