Man seriously injured in reported knife attack outside Berlin hotel

A 34-year-old man was seriously injured after a dispute involving several men outside a hotel on Rhinstraße in Berlin-Marzahn. According to the investigation so far, a 27-year-old first struck him and then reportedly injured him in the abdomen with a knife at about 1:10 a.m. Bystanders gave first aid and took the man to hospital, where he was treated in intensive care; initial findings indicated that his life was not in danger. The 27-year-old said that he had also been assaulted by several men, but initial findings indicated that he was not injured. Police took him into custody to establish his identity and released him after the measures were completed. A specialist unit is investigating on suspicion of dangerous bodily harm.
