Man remanded in custody after knife attack at Berlin Central Station
On 21 August 2025, a 47-year-old man allegedly stabbed a 42-year-old traveller several times and without warning with a knife at Berlin Central Station. The victim suffered stab wounds to his upper body and legs. An off-duty federal police officer arrested the attacker at gunpoint and gave first aid before emergency services took the injured man to hospital, where he underwent surgery. According to the Federal Police, his injuries were not life-threatening. A judge ordered the suspect remanded in custody the following day as investigators pursue suspected dangerous bodily harm.
