Employee injured with knife during altercation at Marzahn snack bar

A 29-year-old guest is alleged to have injured an 18-year-old employee's left hand with a knife during an altercation at a snack bar on Märkische Allee in Berlin-Marzahn. Police said verbal disputes had begun at about 23:40. The guest allegedly left the premises, returned masked at around 1 a.m. with a blank-firing gun, and fired at the employee and later in his direction from outside. The employee then took a sharpening steel from the shop and confronted the man; during the ensuing struggle, the 29-year-old sustained a head injury. The employee took the blank-firing gun from him and handed it to responding police officers. The 29-year-old initially fled but was provisionally detained near a bus stop. His head injury was treated on an outpatient basis in hospital, while the employee's hand injury was treated at the scene. A specialist police unit is continuing the investigation.
