Man reportedly injured with an axe at Berlin apartment
In Berlin-Kreuzberg, a 72-year-old woman reportedly injured her sleeping 74-year-old husband on the head with an axe in the morning at an apartment in a multi-family building on Großbeerenstraße. Police and prosecutors said this happened at around 7 a.m. The woman then reportedly injured herself in the neck with a knife. Emergency crews took both spouses to hospitals for inpatient treatment, and neither was believed to be in life-threatening danger. Prosecutors and the homicide unit are investigating on suspicion of attempted homicide.
