Man attacks Berlin police officers with long knife
A 46-year-old man allegedly ran at a police officer and a female police officer in Berlin-Kreuzberg on the evening of 30 July 2025 while holding a long knife. Police had been called to Park am Gleisdreieck at about 8:25 p.m. following a report of a man with a knife and encountered him near Yorckbrücken. One officer used a conducted-energy device and stopped the attack. Neither officer was injured. The man was arrested and taken to hospital; after treatment, he was admitted to a psychiatric ward at another hospital. Investigations into assaulting law-enforcement officers and attempted dangerous bodily harm are ongoing.
