Man seriously injured with knife in Berlin apartment

A 41-year-old woman is alleged to have attacked her 49-year-old former partner with a knife at his apartment in Berlin-Lichtenberg on the morning of 27 June. Investigators said an argument preceded the attack, in which the man sustained several stab wounds to the upper body and was seriously injured. He locked the suspect in a room to prevent a possible further attack. Emergency personnel arrested her at the scene, and an investigating judge later ordered her provisional placement in a psychiatric hospital. The man received inpatient treatment and was not in life-threatening condition. Investigations into the sequence of events and background are continuing.
