Passenger allegedly threatened ride-hailing driver with knife in Berlin
A passenger allegedly threatened a 33-year-old ride-hailing driver with a knife in Berlin on 7 June and attempted to obtain cash and the driver's shoulder bag. The driver had picked up the man on Friedrichstraße at about 22:50. During the journey, the passenger allegedly first asked whether the vehicle interior was monitored by a camera.
After the driver allegedly heard the sound of a folding knife opening, he stopped the vehicle and fled. The passenger allegedly chased him while holding a knife and demanding cash and the bag. When witnesses alerted police, the alleged attacker stopped the pursuit and fled towards the Büschingstraße tram stop. The investigation was ongoing.
