Man allegedly threatened several people with a knife in Moabit

A 28-year-old man allegedly threatened several people with a knife in Berlin-Moabit at about 21:20 on 15 May. He allegedly first threatened a woman on Putlitzstraße, causing her to flee into a building entrance. On the way towards Quitzowstraße, he allegedly threatened two further women while holding the knife out; at Stephanplatz, he allegedly made repeated stabbing motions towards a group of three people. A physical altercation later occurred with another group on Stendaler Straße, during which the man sustained head injuries. Officers arrested him and recovered a knife allegedly used by him. After outpatient treatment, he was admitted to a psychiatric hospital ward, and criminal police continue to investigate.
