20-year-old injured in group attack in Friedrichshain

A 20-year-old is alleged to have been attacked with pepper spray and a knife by members of a group in Berlin-Friedrichshain. Shortly after 8 p.m., there had reportedly been verbal disputes involving several people in Ede-und-Unku-Weg, as well as shots fired from one or more blank-firing guns. The group, said to comprise between ten and 20 people, allegedly then pursued the man via Jessnerstraße to Frankfurter Allee. He suffered a cut to the head and injuries to an eye and hand, and received outpatient treatment at a hospital. According to police, the alleged attackers fled partly on foot and partly by car towards Lichtenberg; a specialist unit is investigating.
