Man taken to hospital after sustaining stab wounds at Alexanderplatz

A 24-year-old man sustained multiple stab wounds in an alleged attack at Berlin's Alexanderplatz. Police said he was near the square shortly before midnight when three people allegedly attacked him from a group of seven. He was reportedly punched and kicked and also suffered head injuries. A screwdriver was seized as a suspected weapon. Emergency responders treated the man at the scene before taking him to hospital for inpatient care. Police said his life was not in danger; the attackers fled and a specialist unit continued the investigation.
