18-year-old injured in alleged knife stabbing in Berlin

A 26-year-old allegedly stabbed an 18-year-old in the abdomen and back with a knife during a dispute in Berlin's Neu-Hohenschönhausen district in the night before 24 April. At about 12:45 a.m., the 18-year-old and his 23-year-old companion had become involved in a physical confrontation with the man on the pavement of Randowstraße; the dispute was reportedly connected to family issues. The injured man was taken to hospital for inpatient treatment and required emergency surgery. According to the available information, his life was not in danger. The suspect initially fled but was arrested nearby shortly afterwards. Police are investigating suspected dangerous bodily harm.
