Man injured with knife during altercation in central Berlin

An altercation between a minor and a larger group took place on Panoramastraße in central Berlin during the night of 15 April. According to the minor, an unidentified person had first tried to forcibly take his wristwatch, while another suspect allegedly attacked him with pepper spray. When the minor's 21-year-old companion tried to intervene, he was reportedly beaten by people from the group and injured in the thigh with a knife. A police officer initially treated the stab wound before the man received outpatient hospital treatment. Officers checked five suspects near Alexanderplatz S-Bahn station, provisionally detained them and released them after identification with an order to leave the area. The investigation is ongoing.
