Man seriously injured after knife attack at Sonnenallee S-Bahn station
A 26-year-old man was injured in a knife attack on the platform of Sonnenallee S-Bahn station on the evening of 22 February, following an argument. He and a 21-year-old man had become involved in a verbal confrontation with an unknown group after leaving an S-Bahn train. A member of the group allegedly first sprayed irritant gas at both men, causing eye irritation. When the men tried to leave, one group member allegedly followed the 26-year-old and stabbed several times towards his buttocks. The 26-year-old suffered cut injuries to his hand and buttocks; emergency personnel stabilised a life-threatening hand injury with a pressure bandage. After emergency surgery in hospital, there was reportedly no longer any danger to his life. The 21-year-old was treated at the scene, while the group fled. Criminal police are investigating.
