Man threatens security staff with knife at Nollendorfplatz underground station
On 4 February, a 45-year-old man allegedly approached four BVG security employees aged between 21 and 62 with a knife on the platform at Nollendorfplatz underground station in the direction of Pankow. The group withdrew and alerted two police officers who happened to be at the station. The officers noticed the knife and secured the situation with drawn service weapons; the man dropped the knife and was arrested. He was released after an assessment in a hospital psychiatric department. Investigators are treating the case as a threat involving a weapon.
