Cyclist stabbed during dispute in Berlin-Gesundbrunnen

A 22-year-old cyclist was allegedly attacked with a knife at around 3 p.m. on 20 January at the junction of Schwedenstraße and Exerzierstraße in Berlin-Gesundbrunnen. Police said he had become involved in a dispute over a traffic situation with the as-yet unidentified passenger of a Smart car. After the cyclist allegedly sprayed the passenger with pepper spray during the argument, the passenger is said to have got out of the vehicle and stabbed him.

The cyclist sustained stab and cut injuries to his upper body, neck and hand and was taken to hospital for inpatient treatment. The unidentified suspect fled on foot towards Koloniestraße, while the Smart driver left in an unknown direction. A specialist unit of Police Directorate 1 (North) is investigating.
