Man attacks police officers in Bavaria with two knives
A 78-year-old resident of an apartment building in Bavaria allegedly appeared at a neighbour's door on Friday afternoon carrying two knives. The neighbour immediately closed the door after opening it. When police officers tried to contact the man, he threatened to kill anyone entering his apartment.
A special unit arrested him in his apartment at around 7 p.m. Police said he attacked officers with two knives during the arrest and sustained minor injuries in the operation. At the prosecution's request, an investigating judge ordered his placement in custody on suspicion of attempted manslaughter; he was then taken to the forensic department of a hospital.
