Man threatened with knife and injured in Bad Bergzabern

A 55-year-old man was threatened with a knife on Königstraße in Bad Bergzabern at about 11:20 p.m. on 31 March. Three men are alleged to have demanded cash and cigarettes from him. When he refused, they allegedly repeatedly punched and kicked him, leaving him slightly injured.

The men fled on foot. Following searches and a provisional arrest, a 24-year-old was placed in pre-trial detention on urgent suspicion of attempted aggravated robbery-extortion and dangerous bodily harm. Investigations into the two other suspects are ongoing.
