Man remanded in custody after knife attack in Augsburg

A 59-year-old man was seriously injured during an altercation on Max-Josef-Metzger-Straße in Augsburg's Pfersee district on 25 June. According to the current police findings, a 65-year-old man attacked him with a knife at around 17:15. A passer-by came to the injured man's assistance. The suspect initially fled but was stopped nearby and provisionally arrested shortly afterwards. At the public prosecutor's request, an investigating judge issued and enforced a warrant for attempted manslaughter. Criminal police are investigating the background; police said the two men had a prior relationship.
