Man remanded after attempted knife extortion
On 24 April, a 43-year-old man is alleged to have demanded that a 23-year-old man hand over an e-scooter while displaying a knife at Aschaffenburg main station. The 23-year-old handed over the scooter; the suspect initially fled with it for several metres, then left it behind and went away. Earlier, the man is alleged to have tried to pull an e-scooter away from a 27-year-old man. After the two victims notified police, the 43-year-old was provisionally arrested near the tracks. An investigating judge ordered pre-trial detention on suspicion of attempted aggravated robbery extortion.
