Aschaffenburg knife attack: police union calls for tighter security measures

The Bavarian police union cited the knife attack in Aschaffenburg as an example of why it believes stronger public-space security measures are needed. According to the union, a child and a 41-year-old helper died violently in the incident at a public park. The organisation called for measures including a greater police presence, expanded video surveillance and additional police powers.
