Suspect remanded in custody after betting-shop robbery in Albstadt

A man who was initially unidentified is alleged to have been armed with a knife during a robbery at a betting shop in Albstadt-Tailfingen on the evening of 3 March. He entered the premises and demanded cash from a guest whom he apparently mistook for an employee. After the guest told him to leave, the man fled without any money.

Investigators identified a 27-year-old man as a suspect following a witness tip. He was arrested on 9 March, and police said they seized suspected clothing from the offence and the suspected knife. A judge ordered him remanded in pre-trial custody.
